Why the name "The Future"?
"I can remember when I was a freshman in high school. After I ran at my state meet, some guy pulled me to the side and told me that I was Giddings future. I just laughed. Then after running my pr. at the Texas Relays (13.68 at the time) some old timers told me that they came all the way from Houston to see me run, b/c someone told them that there was a hurdler from Giddings by the name of the future that could beat both of Westberry High hurdlers. So, I guess every since then, the name kind of stuck." |

HSI members visits home town.
Larry Wade and Maurice Greene visits one of many Texas country towns.(Giddings) The Father and X Track Coach (Tony Francis Sr.)of Larry Wade recieved a surprised visit from Larry and Maurice Greene.(at local job) Larry Wade, who ran with the towns summer track and field team (L.C Express)says "I love to come back and visit with friends and family, because it is very important for me to never forget where I came from." As for Maurice, "It is good that he is willing to show his face to the local kids. It will give them a better opportunity to get to know him on a personal level." said Tony Francis Jr. |
